its a bag, you put stuff in it
For the money this bag works pretty good. Although, the first time I used it I packed for a weekend camping trip and put it in the car. When I started to set up camp I noticed that there was a section of one of the seams that was starting to rip (definitely not from being overpacked or being road worn or any of the such). This was most likely a flaw from the factory and present before it was even shipped to me. But like I said, its a bag, you put stuff in it, and it still worked great. It has many nice features including rainfly and enough room to pack for a serious trip. I wouldn't hold anything against the bag or its manufacturer, these things happen. Plus I personally think its ludacris to pay $100 plus for a "quality" bag. I think this bag will hold up for a very long time and will serve most any purpose I can come up with.

Great Travel Backpack
The backpack lasted very well. I traveled to Costa Rica for 16 days and it did great. I held a good amount of stuff, about 3 pairs of shoes, 12 shirts, 6 pants, and a lot of random stuff as well. It is not showing any signs of wear.
ok beginners backpack
My fiance and I bought two of these summer before last for a hiking trip along the north shore. They're "OK". They were on sale at the time for about $45 I think...and for that price, I guess they were fine. The bags are a lot longer than we thought they would be, but then I am only 5'4'' and we didn't bother to take measurements ahead of time to see how the bags would fit on our bodies. We were really broke at the time, and thought this seemed like a good option. Maybe it was my own fault for packing my bag too full...but I would have to say the placement of the straps was odd on my petite/curvy frame. The bags didn't rip or anything, and the zippers seemed fairly solid. If you can get these on sale and you are a little taller (at least 5'6'') with small hips, then I think you should. All around, an OK hiking/camping backpack.
